Description

Eric Michael Ogden Skate Rink is a well-used, beloved resource for skaters in central Tucson. The North and South Rinks are in desperate need of repairs or complete refinishing. The cracks in the concrete pose an ongoing and worsening safety risk to the athletic leagues and community skaters that use the rinks daily.

also asked...
Q. Select type of amenity that is damaged.
A. Athletic Space
Q. Describe damage to amenity.
A. There are dozens of large, 1-2+ inch wide cracks in the concrete all over both the North and South Rinks. Loose gravel from the cracks poses an additional hazard to skaters of all ages. Four roller derby leagues, roller hockey leagues, and likely many others pay to rent these rinks, in addition to the huge uptick in community members who enjoy accessing them to skateboard, inline skate, and dance skate. We expect that these funds (not to mention our city taxes) should go into maintaining them to a baseline level of safety.
Q. Describe location or name of damaged amenity. (e.g., Ramada number, area of park, etc.)
A. The North Rink on N Palo Verde Blvd and the South Rink on E Pima Street
