DGS gravel failure...

Q. Please briefly describe the situation.
A. I wish I could post more photos to show how bad this job by DGS was done. Last year we made a complaint about the mud around the cul-de-sac and that it was badly in need of paving. Instead of paving, they sent out a crew and threw down gravel, this Spring, myself and every neighbor on the street has spent hours picking out gravel pieces out of our front yard, I took a photo of my pile, I just threw it in the woods because I didn't want to add back to the problem, the gravel just washes down the road into the street into everyone's yards, it's terrible. Can the City actually fix this issue and pave it the right way? Oh, also the city garbage trucks not only left huge divets in the gravel, but also ran tracks onto our front yard...you can visibly see them, huge divets we now need to fix. People on this street have to pay 15k+ in taxes - and this is what it gets you. Please remedy this the right way and actually do a good job.

Thank you for your street repaving request. The City of Albany contracts out two annual Street Resurfacing & Sidewalk Reconstruction contracts each year; consisting of about 30 to 35 street segments total.
The streets are selected through a data-driven approach where City engineers review the condition of each City-owned street and evaluate the overall street conditions of each City Ward. The City distributes improvements in a fair manner across each City Ward in accordance with the Equity Agenda.
In addition to the streets included in either of the Street Resurfacing & Sidewalk Reconstruction contracts DGS will also mill, pave and micro surface another 10-20 streets where a complete street approach is not needed.
We have added this street to the list for consideration for next year street repavement projects. When the list has been finalized it will be available on the City Website here: https://www.albanyny.gov/298/Projects
