Description
Another sunny, dry day and no sign of centurion anywhere. I know there has been some bad weather, but why aren't they working in the good weather? The condition of Sunset and upper White Oak is pretty bad... What is the revised completion date?

Per Public Utilities: The recent weather impacts have delayed construction. Below are updated construction activities and the upcoming 2-week work schedule for in this area, weather permitting.
Whitaker Mill Road
Paving of the patch was completed last week. There are two locations on Whitaker Mill Rd where tie-ins for the Center St and Pershing St waterline replacement work impacts this road beyond the waterline replacement along Whitaker Mill. These locations will be paved with permanent asphalt in late March. Moving forward there will be minor work being performed along Whitaker Mill Rd, such as clean-up , concrete curb replacement and seeding.
The two-lane section of Whitaker Mill Rd between Glenwood Ave and Reaves St has been added to the Public Works Dept resurfacing list. This resurfacing will occur sometime between March – October 2014.
Sunset Dr, White Oak Dr, Scales St
Water service connections on these Sunset, White Oak and Scales roads are complete and paving of the gravel patches will occur during the next available weather window (likely next week). These tight roads will be mostly blocked by asphalt trucks, paving crews and asphalt equipment.
Center St
The new water line on Center St is being pressure tested today (3/3/14) and will be super chlorinated this week. Water service connections will begin next week, and residents will receive notices from the contractor.
Pershing St
The new water line on Pershing is still being installed. The water line connection at the Pershing/Whitaker Mill Rd intersection will occur next week and will require a lane closure.
Georgetown Rd
The waterline installation on Georgetown Rd will start next week with a road closure between Center Rd to Pershing Rd.
Residents will be notified in advance of the short-term water shut-offs. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at Rachelle.Rhodes@RaleighNC.gov, or call me at 919-996-3476.
