Could LPD please do provide some sort of traffic enforcement in front of Belmont Elementary at morning rush hour? We got parents parking in the driving lane because their kids are too lazy to walk an extra 50 feet. We got people using the center turn lane as a driving lane from Fairfield Street to Butler Avenue, merging into the south bound lane after Adams. In the five cities I've lived in, I have never seen so many traffic infractions as this area of town. Judging by other users on this website, it appears the city doesn't care about this part of town. You would think with a police station a block away from Belmont, you would occasionally see traffic enforcement, but I have seen exactly two police cars in the last three years on my morning commute through the armpit of Lincoln between 7:30 and 7:45. I have been told by two different police officers when I personally questioned them why there is no traffic enforcement before 8:00 AM, and I was told by both that it is due to the shift change at 8:00 AM and officers don't want to be stuck writing at ticket after 8:00 AM.

New year, same horrible parent parking/drop off at Belmont Elementary. LPD or parking enforcement needs to enforce the "no parking" from 7 AM - 5 PM in the cut outs along 14th Street that parents are parking in for 20-30 minutes. This causes parents to park double wide, taking up half of the southbound lanes of 14th Street. Three out of four school days this week have had two cars illegally parked in the crosswalk for 15 minutes from 7:35 - 7:50 AM, which causes 14th Street to backup. Most days it's the same offending vehicles. The issue was temporarily much better after the last enforcement done by LPD, but started getting worse again towards Christmas Break. Please enforce the current laws on two consecutive days, WRITING TICKETS to all offenders. That is the only way they seem to learn, when it hits their checkbook.

Student drop off NEEDS to be relocated to Judson St for a safer environment for all parties. The next best option would be to put up permanent traffic delineators that would require parents to pull into the drop off lane and stay in the drop off lane until they get to the end, eliminating the parents parking in the drop off zone for 30 minutes. Belmont is the only public school in Lincoln where parents drop off students along a major arterial, and that NEEDS to be changed. We were told the city was spending millions on a traffic study, what ever came of that study?

Weeds growing in sidewalk cracks. This poses a tripping hazard, especially for older individuals walking their dogs at the dog park. Could the sidewalk be trimmed once or twice a summer?

The whole Belmont neighborhood is a sheet of ice.

Another day, another illegally parked car in the SB driving lane on 14 street, this time at 7:37 am according to the car clock. When will LPD be out to enforce traffic violations? I know we've been told by police officers that they don't like to enforce that close to 8 am because they get off duty at that time, and they don't want to be stuck working "late", but something needs to be done.
