We just got them out of there a couple months age. They left a huge mess behind. It looked like several dump trucks worth of filth.
If their back we have to get them out fast or else it grows beyond belief
Thank you for reporting! The Police Department's Community Service Section (CSS) has opened a case for this issue. CSS has one part-time and three full-time employees who are responsible for addressing all quality of life concerns, supporting Neighborhood Watch groups, and working with the Neighborhood Law Program and Code Enforcement to address distressed and dangerous properties. We work hard to investigate each report in a timely manner, and will investigate this report as soon as we possibly can. Please keep in mind there is a lengthy process to remove illegal encampments. If you have any questions, please call our office at (707) 553-7218.
If you witness any suspicious or criminal activity that requires an immediate response, please call 9-1-1.
I scouted this hillside yesterday - good news is that the large camp by the water tank is still empty. The bad news is that there is evidence of "campers" on the hillside. Unfortunately the real threat is from fire, the grass is very tall on that hillside and also very dry. One careless tweaker with a flame source and the whole hillside will go up.
Perhaps GVRD can do what they did last year, which was to procure the services of CDC Fire Camp inmates to clear cut the grass on the hillsides.
SeeClickFix admin, can you help here with proper routing? This is GVRD jurisdiction, Hanns Park, so this should be re-routed to them. CSS will just kick it back while in the interim NOTHING is being done. Much appreciated!
A few months ago when these people were here, they had open fires on a regular basis. They also brought a great deal of crime and vandalism to our neighborhoods. Just a few months ago the city spent a great deal of money and hundreds of man hours cleaning this area of untold filth including a great deal of human feces from this area.
MikeD Please explain why this is a lengthy process? If I took my kids and pitched tents and camped out in the park. I expect we would be immediately escorted out and possibly cited.
