For the last 20 years of my life - this area was never an issue until recently (probably due to more people moving back to this neighborhood due to covid). It seems that several cars have been parking here and causing issues for both my residence and the residence to the other side of me. I don't know if it was ever painted but I think it needs to be painted RED because it's a fire hydrant and an electricity box? This will help everyone in the neighborhood from having misunderstandings on the space so if there's a way to fix this, please let me know how I can be of assistance.

Typically the City does not paint red curb adjacent to fire hydrants in residential areas (the California Vehicle Code does not require red curb to enforce parking in front of a hydrant).
Residents can request red curb adjacent to a fire hydrant, City Policy requires a petition signed by a minimum of the 4 residents (2 on each side of the street). The petition shall include the address, printed name, signature and phone number/email.
