I have also reported this problem at least twice in the past. Seems like it's always ignored. Unless there's a big, big problem under the surface that no one has mentioned. Otherwise, it's just more neglect by this administration.
I live on Edgewood. Just last week a 2-man crew and large truck traveled through the neighborhood cleaning out storm drains. You can see the day-glo green blaze of paint they sprayed on each completed green. Why in all the goblins in H*** did they miss this particular drain? I've been complaining about it for years! Bureaucratic ineptitude? Apathy? Malice? Will somebody in Public Works please, please explain this major screw-up to us, the residents/taxpayers?
With regard to the green spot, the cleaning crews sometimes forget to apply it. With regards to cleaning, this particular catch basin has been jetted three or four times in the last year, and still drains slowly. The reason is that it drains to a sanitary sewer, and there is a siphon in the line that has become partially blocked, probably by a Styrofoam box or an aluminum can. Replacing the siphon is an exceedingly expensive task. The only way to avoid this kind of problem is to get people from throwing trash on the streets. A further attempt at jetting the line will be made in the next week or so, but it is unlikely to be completely effective.
