Description
Hoosick Street has inadequate crosswalks. People have been killed trying to cross this street. The city painted new lines last fall and they are almost entirely worn off.
The city or DOT needs to install heavy duty crosswalk material to represent the heavy duty usage of one of the areas busiest roadways.

I think police should start ticketing jay walkers. I've seen ignorant pedestrians walk against the crosswalk & traffic lights many times.
Jay walking causes traffic to unexpectedly halt or move out of travel lanes to avoid these idiot jay walkers.
Contrary to popular opinion, pedestrians who choose to ignore traffic signals DO NOT have the right of way.

HERE'S A RECENT PICTURE OF THE CROSSWALK AT HOOSICK AND 10TH.

This is an incredibly busy intersection, Pedestrians need to know where to walk and drivers need to know where the designated crosswalk is. Otherwise, there will eventually be pedestrian/vehicle accidents. It is only a matter of time.
