I got a parking ticket on central ave, and noticed a few minutes later the meter man was being yelled at. is it really necessary to yell at him? just go pay it and carry on.

People who have never been to another downtown, have no idea how good we have it in Prince Albert. Parking fees are minimal. The distance from any particular parking stall to your destination business is minimal. Parking fines are minimal. People do not shop downtown for their toilet paper and milk. People shop downtown for an experience that they do not receive anywhere else. People shop downtown in order that they might find something unique, special, and different. When I am in other cities I always make a point to explore their downtown. It is in these places that I find some of the most interesting merchandise and people. On one of my trips to a downtown, I spent the whole day exploring the shops it had to offer. I began at a Japanese tea house where everything was fresh and pressed to order. (lose tea must be done in a french press) I then proceeded to find a toy store that had things I had never seen in my life. (ps, the suckers that say they make you @#$%, do not....not a fun prank at all) The uniqueness just kept coming, and I enjoyed it all day. These are definitely not places for wal-mart fanatics.
I enjoy inexpensive, normal, everyday merchandise as much as the next person, but shopping at those stores is like work. One must experience life! Shop outside of the box! Browse to enjoy, not for cost and necessity. Downtowns are about community and togetherness. It is a place for people to gather, to eat, to shop, to live. It's a place outside of the norm, and a place to adventure. It's a place many people have never discovered, or because of rumour are afraid to. Downtowns are places I love to be.
With all that said. Don't yell at the parking metre guy. How would you like it if I came to your place of work and started screaming at you? As Laura said, PAY YOUR FIVE BUCKS....and have a nice day:)

the meter Girl and Guy here in P.A. used to follow my buddy around waiting for him to park, just so they could ticket him, as he was a salesman and needed to make multiple quick stops.
they don't ticket DHL or Purolator when they block the road, so I told him he should get a sign and just park in the lane like everyone else
