I’ve alerted the same problem and same house in the past. Pretty sure they are currently occupying the main house. There is another property in the back of the lot that is occupied by a mother and her son. But that front house sits empty and is constantly used to various side hustles.

These are pictures that I witnessed of her trying to break into both duplexes which are empty. The other picture is the garage where she is living inside and where the assault and battery occured. The police responded to the call and arrested her accomplice after foot pursuit in the neighborhood. Our neighbors are hoping that this property will be secured soon, as she is still residing within the garage. Thanks.

I believe they have made their way inside. That door you see her trying to get into has still been left in tact. But there is a door that's not visible in the photo to her right, and they have managed to break into that and I've seen them come & go into the property. I've seen them coming/going from the front to the back several times, but I was unaware that there was a garage in the back. Ive only seen the mother and her son who legally occupy a residence in the back (must be next to a garage in the back?)

This has to stop. Its the same squatters moving from home to home because the city is not doing enough to pressure rental companies and LLCs who buy cheap and sit and abandon properties until they can double the home price. In the meantime, we residents and owners have to deal with the violence, drugs, and illegal activity. If we call 911 is not priority and no one gets dispatched. If you stop calling then nothing happens. $500 one time fees are a joke to the LLCs buying these properties.

Sue the homeowners in small claims court for allowing a nuisance. Get you neighbors to file their own small claims actions too. When it starts costing them money, they will take care of it. It has worked in other cities; it can work here.

I saw the gentleman who committed the assault 4 days ago on the alley property of 700 block of York St. In addition, two women in the garage and two separate unseen cars loitering in the garage of the unoccupied property.

I believe I saw 8 different vehicles come and go yesterday (the 12) please do something about this.

This reads like a slow-moving train wreck. Is the COV STILL incapable of stopping crime? Try Neighborhood Law Project at City Hall - it was created about 10 years ago because squatters had become so aggressive on Kentucky Street - we had a squatter house flagrantly selling drugs, people, and sex, abusing children, shooting out windshields, ending when they kidnapped a woman in Oakland and brought her to Vallejo for raping. This behavior went on for YEARS until our next-door neighborhood made a scene at city hall. Don't expect anything from COV until you demand it. Such a sorry excuse for a government.
